Internal or external fertilization? Define and describe how each works
A
Internal fertilization happens inside the female body, where sperm meets the egg during mating. It protects the embryo and is common in mammals and birds. External fertilization occurs outside the body, often in water. Both parents release sperm and eggs, letting fertilization happen in open water, as in fish.
