Distances, Trajectory. Flashcards
How can you tell an object moves?
By noticing/telling the shift in the position of the object.
What are the senses you use to detect movement?
Sight, Hearing, touch, smell (moving objects leave a trail), taste, etc.
What is Trajectory and displacement?
Trajectory is the path an object follows when moving. The displacement is the lenght of the SHORTEST Trajectory.
What is the distance of motion?
The lenght of the trajectory an object follows.
How can you measure an object?
Ascertain the size, amount of degree by using an instrument ir device (ruler)
What is magnitude?
The size or extent of something
What is a unit?
A quantity chosen as a standard in terms of which other quantities may be expressed.
What are the types of units (Scalar vectors)?
Scalar units (only need numerical value) and Vector units (need numerical value and direction)
When having a negative number in a vector-
You substract it to the nearest section.
