What is a scalar quantity?

A

A vector is a something that has a magnitude and a direction eg force velocity displacement weight acceleration.

A scalar is something that has magnitude only not a direction. Eg distance speed mass energy

A

Speed is just how fast you’re going with no regard to the direction
Velocity is speed in a given direction

Distance m = speed m/s x time s
