A
Vomiting, nausea, heart burns, excessive salivation, dysphagia, anorexia abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, Melina stool

A
- Paralysis of swallowing mechanism

Causes of paralysis of swallowing and esophagus mechanism
A
- NERVE DAMAGE : Results from damage to 5th,9th or 10th cranial nerve.
- BRAIN DAMAGE: Due to poliomyelitis, encephalitis
- MUSCLE DYSFUNCTION: paralysis due to failure of neuromuscular transmission e.g Myasthenia gravis or botulism

Achalasia
A
- Occurs due to failure of lower esophageal sphincter to relax
- Swallowed food builds up, stretching the esophagus over months and years
- The esophagus becomes markedly enlarged leading to stasis of food particles
- leads to dysphagea, infections, malnutrition and cancer

- Gastritis
- Chronic Gastritis
- Peptic ulceration
- Zollinger Ellison’s Syndromes.
Also failure of the Gastric mucosal barrier mechanism

- Gastritis.Causes.
A
- Inflammation of the Gastric mucosal causing atrophy. It can be acute and severe with ulcerative excoriation of stomach mucosa that damage mucosal barrier
Causes:
- Chronic bacterial infection
- Irritant substance e.g alcohol, aspirin, cigarette smoking and steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
