Excessive thirst.

Define anorexia
Eating disorder where you feel a need to keep your weight as low as possible.
Define obesity.
Very overweight, with a lot of body fat.
What is the hormone responsible for the regulation of Osmolality?
ADH/ Vasopressin
How does ADH work and where is it stored?
-Produced in the hypothalamus and stored in the posterior pituitary gland.
-Released by the posterior pituitary in response to sensors that detect an increase in blood osmolality.
If the plasma concentration of ADH is low will there be water diuresis or an anti-diuresis?
Water diuresis, (lose water).
Which regions are sensory osmoreceptors found in the hypothalamus?
-Organum vasculosum

-Kidney failure

What do the juxtaglomerular cells of the renal afferent arteriole detect and what gets released in response to this?
They detect drops in blood pressure and release renin.
