testicular descent happens at
7 to 8 months
if testis has not descended by ___ months, it will not descend

Classification of undescended testes
abdominal (nonpalpable)
peeping (abdominal but can be pushed into upper part of inguinal canal)
inguinal
gliding ( can be pushed to scrotum but retracts immediately)
ectopic
patients with undescended testis have increased risk of
germ cell malignancy (seminoma)
peak age: 15 to 45yrs
surgical treatment for undescended testis should be during
9 to 15 months old
Orchiopexy
If non palpable –> diagnostic laparoscopy
most common cause of severe testicular pain in males 12 yrs old and above
Testicular torsion
manual detorsion can be done if pain duration is ___-
less than 4-6hr
abnormal dilation of pampiniform plexus in scrotum
