Reiter’s syndrome
Possibly erythema multiforme like lesions
Gonorrhea etiology
neisseria gonorrhoeae is a gram negative coccus in pairs
Gonorrhea in men
3-5 day incubation period with dysuria and purulent urethral discharge
Gonorrhea in women
often asymptomatic but can develop cervicitis and urethritis or PID
Disseminated Gonoccocal infection
AKA arthritis-Dermatitis syndrome
- triad of dermatitis, tenosynovitis, and migratory polyarthritis (often involving knee/hands/wrists)
Skin lesions in disseminated gonorrhea
On the dorsal hands, ankles, and toes thought to be microabscesses 2/2 embolization of the organisms
- painless non pruritic tiny red papules/petechiae that can become necrotic in center
