Septic Arthritis
Bacterial and viral infections. Direct invasion or deposition of microbial antigens in joints
Rheumatoid arthritis
Immune response against synovial joint antigens by T cells.
Ankylosing Spondylitis
Chronic inflammation of spine and sacroiliac joints
Reiter’s syndrome
Inflammatory arthritis, urethritis, and conjunctivitis and uvetitis

Sjogren’s Syndrome
Autoimmune destruction of exocrine glands that include lacrimal and salivary glands. It can also include glans in respiratory mucosa and vagina. Patients can develop arthritis and connective tissue diseases.
Scleroderma
Fibrosis affecting skin, GI tract, heart and muscle. Polyarthritis in 25% of patients.
