- ENAMEL HYPOPLASIA AND TOOTH DISCOLOURATION(due to tetracycline treatment)
- -SALIVARY GLAND INVOLVEMENT,REDUCED INCIDENCE OF DENTAL CARIES
- -RESERVOIR OF POTENTIALLY PATHOGENIC RESPIRATORY BACTERIA
- -MOUTH BREATHING
- -ANTERIOR OPEN BITE ASSOCIATED WITH NASAL AND SINUS OBSTRUCTION
Intrinsic Pigmentation of teeth seen in ERYTHROBLASTOSIS FETALIS____
BLUE GREEN colour of PRIMARY TEETH only
due to excessive hemolysis of RBC
Staining occurs due to diffusion of BILIRUBIN AND BILIVERDIN into dentin

PORPHYRIA_____
PURPLISH BROWN pigmentation
other features—red colour urine,hypersensitivity to light and blisters on hands and face

TETRACYCLINE_____
YELLOW OR YELLOW BROWN pigmentation in dentin and to a lesser extent in enamel . the teeth fluoresce yellow under UV light
NATAL and NEONATAL teeth
NATAL teeth —-Teeth Present at BIRTH(most common) NEONATAL teeth ——- Teeth that erupt WITHIN 30DAYS AFTER BIRTH 90% of PRECOCIOUS erupted teeth are deciduous teeth (mandibular incisors)

ATAXIC cerebral palsy
Poor sense of balance and uncoordinated voluntary movements like stumbling or staggering gait or difficulty in grasping objects
CEREBRAL PALSY
It is a non progressive lesion which occurs in the developing brain before,during or after birth
Autism
It is a disturbance of mental and emotional development that causes problem in learning,communication and is manifested in the first 3 years of life
Features of AUTISM
Children have :: -poor muscle tone , language disturbance, parrot like repetitive speech,extreme loneliness and aggressive or destructive behaviour to fearful situations
IQ of autism affected children
Between 50to70
KANNER’S syndrome/KANNER’s autism/ASPERGER’S syndrome
It is a serious disorder of early childhood presenting in 2nd or 3rd years of life. Clinical Features:::— lack of responsiveness to other human beings with detachment from parents or others,absence or abnormality of language development and speech,behaviour abnormality,with temper tantrum and repetitive activities. MANY children are mentally retarded and 50% show DELAY in MOTOR MILE STONES.Child appears ALERT and ATTRACTIVE INSPITE of odd behaviour
