Steps for turbulence penetration (severe)

A

1: FMC N1 limit select CON
2: AP use CWS and do not use ALT HLD
3: A/T disengage.
4: Do not use sudden, large control inputs !
5 : Do not chase the altitude/speed
6: Eng start switch FLT

Driftdown steps

A

1 : disconnect A/T, select CON in the FMC manually set the limit thrust.
2 : select ENG OUT CRZ
set engine out ALT and airspeed on MCP
Slow to ENG OUT airspeed
Select LVL CHG
3 : Notify ATC if turn is necessary, use HDG SEL
4 : Non-normal checklist.
5 : Maintain CON
Accelerate to single engine long range cruise speed
