A

1) add Benedicts reagent to the sample
2) Heat
3) if reducing sugar is present then sample will turn green, yellow or red depending on the concentration

A

1) heat the new sample with dilute hydrochloric acid
2) neutralise the acid – adding sodium hydrocarbonate
3) heat the sample with Benedicts reagent
4) Non reducing: green, yellow or brick red
