Q

Major cause of Depression? (Besides Wall Street) Give an example

A

Much of prosperity of 1920s was based on production and sale of primary resources (80% of this was sold in international markets). Canada and other countries were producing more goods than market could absorb. E.g: production of newsprint had increased 350% in 1920s and prices crashed in 1927 (more newspaper was being made than could be sold. supply > demand)
