Blocking
Telling actors where they should move for the proper dramatic effect, ensure sight lines for the audience and work with the lighting design of the scene.
Movement
The movements of the actor onstage. This can tell us something about the character’s.
Proxemics
The position of people in relation to each other onstage. This can tell us something about the characters.
Space/ spatial awareness
The defined space / spatial awareness is the ability to be aware of oneself in space.
Theme
The basic idea of a play, the idea or the perception.
Objective
An objective is what the character wants, or what the character’s goal is. “I want…”.
Given circumstances
The given circumstances are the information about the character that you start off with and the play as a whole. The who, what, where, when stuff.
Subtext
The underlying or implicit meaning of a line in the script.

Dramatic irony
A character’s words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character e.g. Birling: “…sinkable, absolutely unsinkable.”.
Ensemble
A group of musicians, actors, or dancers who perform together.
Exits/ entrances
The way the actor comes on stage and leaves the stage.
Rehearsal
The action or process of rehearsing.
Foreshadowing
A warning or indication of (a future event).
Still image
A single static image or freeze frame.
