Did you pursue further education?
After deciding to go back to school for my teaching degree, I attended the teacher preparation program at the state university of NY at poseidon
Aside from being a teacher, do you hold any other roles at Athena?
In 2019, we started the computer science club, which I was the advisor of. This club has now been dissolved as a result of budget cuts.
Was Sandy Townes a part of this club?
Yes, prior to the club being disbanded Sandy was voted to be the VP of the club.
Were Townes and Edwards members of the executive board?
Townes, then a freshman, and Edwards, a sophomore, both ran for vice president in 2021. Townes ended up winning the election and joining the executive board, Edwards did not take this “snub” well.
Did this create tension within the club?
Yes, Daelyn became bitter towards Sandy and had a complete attitude change, this rubbed other members of the club the wrong way.
How did Edwards change?
Edwards went from a pleasant student who worked well with other members of the club, to becoming more assertive, less cooperative, and somewhat dictatorial.
Did Edwards ever complain?
yes, Edwards thought that since they were doing most of the work in the Club, they should have more of a say in its management. This is what led to Edwards losing the election and then blaming townes for it.
Did you ever have a discussion w/ edwards about the election?
Edwards though being VP of the club might help them secure a scholarship. i tried to dissuade them of this misperception but that was Edward’s belief. Edward’s parents had limited resources and didn’t want to take on the huge debt.
Did this have any impact on the club?
Unfortunately, edwards blamed it all on townes and become bitter toward them and less active in the club
Did edwards ever take a class w/ you?
Yes, she took my AP computer science course.
And what do you cover in that class?
we cover some highly advanced topics in that class including computer systems, applications, and generative AI.
Do you have any of your students do projects?
Yes, in fact edwards wrote a beautiful paper on generative AI and how to prevent malicious abuse, the content was exceptional and showed she knew how to use generative AI
Can u elaborate on edwards use of AI?
Edwards showed she had a good understanding about the topic of generative AI
And what happened at about 9:55 (April 2nd when audio was posted) that day?
i was in the club room at that time and Sandy came in looking for someone, she ended up not needing anything so she headed out
you were teacher and advisor of club?
That’s right. I taught the kids for the entire year and oversaw them in the computer room.
As their teacher, and club advisor, were you able to evaluate their skills?
Yes. I was the one teaching the curriculum and grading the tests and helping them develop.
What was the topic Edwards chose to write on?
The future of generative AI and how to prevent malicious abuse. Edwards showed in-depth knowledge on the topic of generative AI.
Are you familiar with Gates?
Yes, Gates is the school districts director of technology.
To your knowledge, does Gates have the skill to do this
Of course Gates does! He has certifications in technology and is an AI engineer associate. But that doesn’t mean Gates did this.
so people have the ability to but that doesn’t mean they did them?
absolutely, There are a lot of people with the ability to do these things, that doesn’t mean they actually did them.

9:55, u were in the club room?
Well, it wasn’t much of a computer club room at that point, there was only one computer left in there but yes I was in there
As teacher, person who looked at essay, able to evaluate skill sets of students
Based on the essay I graded, Edward’s definitely had the ability to produce and upload those deepfakes.
