Dimensions Of ABA Flashcards
Applied
ABA focuses on behaviors that are socially significant to the individual and society. This dimension ensures that the interventions have practical importance and address meaningful issues in the persons life.
Behavioral
The behavioral dimension targets observable and measurable actions, ensuring the focus is on what individuals do rather than their internal statements or interpretations.
Analytic
We want to demonstrate a clear FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIP between the intervention and behavior change. Analytic practices rely on systematic experimental designs to demonstrate a level of causation.
Technological
The technological dimension emphasizes the importance of detailed procedures that allow others to REPLICATE interventions accurately. It ensures clarity and consistency in application.
Conceptually Systematic
Interventions should be designed using principles of behavior analysis, ensuring that practices are tied to underlying framework. (e.g. reinforcement, extinction, punishment)
Effective
Interventions should make meaningful and/or significant change in the client’s life.
Generality
Maybe the most important intervention in the big picture. We must make sure what we teach can be done in the natural environment. If your client is not generalizing then they are not mastering the skill.
