Digital Radiography Flashcards
What occurs in digital imaging?
X-ray analog is changed into a voltage signal, with each charge voltage assigned a gray scale.
What is sampling?
Spatial distribution of pixels.
What are direct digital receptors? They are made up of?
CCD and CMOS. Silicon based.
What are the indirect digital receptors? What is the principle behind how it works? What do you have to do with the image?
PSP.
Captures energy from x-ray. Releases it when simulated by another light source. This energy captured and converted to voltage.
You have to clean up the image.
What are the benefits of CCD/CMOS? Cons?
Pros: 1. Direct/fast
2.High spacial resolution
Cons: 1. Cable
- Expensive
- Smaller surface area
- Sensor dimentions.
What are the pros and cons of PSP?
Pros: -No cable
- Large surface area - Economical
Cons: -Indirect
- Plate handling - low spacial resolution
Which has less radiation?
CDC or CMOS
