Made up of lots of pixels
Stores info about each individual pixel in the image
What are the advantage of a Vector graphic?
Smaller memory size
Easier to transform or change a vector graphic
Quicker upload and download times due to smaller file size

Stands for bitmap
Saves the image as a group of pixels
Used for drawings
Advantages
Creates a good quality image
Disadvantages
File sizes can be large which will increase upload/download times
JPEG (Uses, Advantages & Disadvantages
Stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group
Used for putting images on the internet
Advantages
File type compresses images which their file sizes smaller
Ideal for uploading/downloading
Disadvantages
Reduced quality of the image
GIF (Uses, Advantages & Disadvantages)
Stands for Graphics Interchange Format
Used to create small, basic web animations
Advantages
Small size makes them ideal for internet use
Disadvantages
Fewer colours than a JPEG or BMP
Not suitable for photographs
TIFF (Uses, Advantages & Disadvantages)
Tagged Image File Format
Made for scanners
Advantages
Good image quality
Disadvantages
Larger file size
EPS (Uses, Advantages & Disadvantages)
Encapsulated Postscript
Used to convert text to vector art
Advantages
Small thumbnails preview when working with lots of files
Disadvantages
Technology is not commonly used
