What is digital footprint?
A digital footprint is data you leave behind while on the Internet. It includes websites you visit, emails sent, and information shared with others. Your digital footprint can not be erased.
What can understanding digital footprint do?
It helps you choose and control what you leave online for others to find as you are more concious and aware of the personal information available to others.
How can someone’s digital footprint impact their life?
If a person’s digital footprint includes records of posting insensitive racial and sexist content/ comments and posts, a
potential employer may run a background check that can impact their future at the company.
It can also harm themselves and their families reputation. This could impact a person’s reputation, personal relationships, professional relationships and relationships within the community.
What is cyberbullying?
Sharing or posting negative and harmful content about someone else. Usually false with the intent to embarrass or humiliate.
What is a bystander?
A person who is present at an event or incident but does not get involved in the situation or help.
What is sexting?
This term refers to sending, receiving, or forwarding sexually explicit messages, photographs, or videos, primarily between mobile phones.
What is catfishing?
This term refers to setting up a fake identity online to trick people about who you are and your intentions.
