A trail of data you create while using the internet
Active footprint
An active footprint can be defined as the intentional data trail that an individual leaves behind. (sending someone an email)
Passive footprint
A passive footprint is a data trail that you unintentionally leave online (info is being collected without the person knowing it is happening)

What is Cache and Cookies?
Cache = used to store online page resources during a browser or to decrease the loading time. Cookies = employed to store user choices such as browsing session to trace the user preferences
