What is personal information
Personal information is - Name, Address, Phone number, Birthday, Height, Weight, Passwords etc
What is Copyright? What is copyright protection?
Copyright protection is for creators to get paid for their efforts and works. When someone makes original work they decide who can; Make copies, Distribute copies, display or perform the work in public. Copyright protection is given to artists to encourage them to do more creative work. The circle © indicates copyright, but copyright protection can be there without the symbol also. Creators have ownership of their work unless it is sold.
What is the difference between copyright and plagiarism?
Copyright - Having the right to take someone else’s work
Plagiarism - Taking someone else’s work and presenting it as your own.
What is a bibliography?
Bibliography is a list of sources that you have referred to in your research. This includes the Authors name, Name of work, and links to sources/sites.
What are the 4 types of copyright
The four types of copyright are;-
Use with modifications - This allows users to edit and share the edited version of the work.
Reuse - This allows users to reuse the work, they can’t make edits.
Non-commercial reuse - The user is allowed to reuse the work for non-commercial purposes.
Non-commercial reuse with modifications - Allows users to reuse and edit the work for non-commercial purposes.
What are Flicker creative commons?
Flicker Creative Commons is a place where people can search images by usage rights. They have to give full credit, link to the profile, and authors name. There are many licences available.
What is Unsplash?
Unsplash has only copyright-free images, but you still need to give the source of the image and the name of the author.
What is Safe Search?
Safe search is a feature that hides explicit results. It is not 100% accurate. When it is turned off it gives the most relevant information. It can be turned on for; Unsupervised children, personnel accounts or browsers, and school devices.
What are Creative Commons?
Creative Commons is a non-profit organization, made so artists can modify their copyright needs. This is not an alternative to copyright but goes over it.
What is proprietary software?
Proprietary software is owned by an individual company and is also known as closed source/commercial software. There are restrictions on its distribution. Examples: Mac OS, Microsoft windows
What is shareware software?
Shareware software is distributed on a trial basis. We have to pay once the trial gets over. They are good because they are free of cost, helps us know the product before buying, PHP debugger,
Winzip. Example: Adobe Acrobat.
What is Freeware software?
Freeware software is free of cost. Can download from the internet. Cannot be modified or shared. It is a closed source. Example: Adobe pdf, yahoo messenger
What is open-source software?
Open-source software has a source code that can be modified and enhances. It can be used to copy, learn and share. It can be free or chargeable. Example: Firefox browser, PHP, openoffice.
