What does the mouth do?
A
Digestion starts here, chewing breaks down food, saliva contains an enzyme to break down the starch in to sugars.

What does the oesophagus do?
A
Long tube from the mouth to the stomach, food passes down this.

What does the stomach do?
A
Food is churned and mixed with juice that contains acid and an enzyme.

What does the small intestine do?
A
More enzymes are added and food is absorbed into the blood.

What does the large intestine do?
A
Water is absorbed from waste food.

A
Undigested matter leaves the body.
