Esophagus
Alimentary canal organ, conducts food to the stomach.
Pharynx
Alimentary canal organ, initiated wavelike contractions to propel food into the esophagus
Liver
Accessory gland, produces bile
Stomach
Alimentary canal organ, a storage region for food as well as a food breakdown area.
Pancreas
Accessory organ, secretes an alkaline fluid and releases it into the duodenum
Gallbladder
Accessory gland, stores bile until it is needed.
Small intestine
Alimentary canal organ, composed of three parts duodenum, jejunum, ileum. Nearly all food absorption occurs in the small intestine.
Large intestine
Alimentary canal organ, composed of 8 parts. The transverse colon, descending colon, ascending colon, cecum,sigmoid colon, rectum,appendix,anal canal. It compacts and propels the fecal matter towards the anus.
