What is the primary function of the salivary glands?
To secrete saliva, which moistens and lubricates food to be more easily swallowed.
What is coprophagia?
The eating of feces.
What are the functions of the liver?
Storage, detoxification, modification of nutrients.
Does any major absorption happen in the stomach?
No, it mainly serves to mix food.
Where does most of the nutrient absorption take place?
The small intestine.
What does the large intestine mainly absorb?
Water.
