They produce vitamins, stimulate enzymes, reduce faeces, and promote antibody formation.
What is fermentaton?
When food is exposed to bacteria.
What are the benefits of probiotics?
Reduces diarrhoea, immune response, digestive system.
What are digestive enzymes?
Biological catalysts.
What happens to carbohydrates?
Get broken down by carbohydrase into smaller sugar molecules.
Where are carhohydrates digested?
The mouth and the small intestines.
What happens to proteins?
They get broken down into amino acids by protease.
Where are proteins digested?
The stomach and the small intestine.
What happens to lipids?
Gets broken down by lipase into fatty acids and glycerol.
Where do lipids get digested?
The small intestine.
What does bile do and where is it made?
It is made in the liver and helps beak the lipids into smaller droplets.
