what is the pathology of pancreatitis?

A

autodigestion of the pancreas by its own digestive enzymes (lipase, amylase, ribonuclease) due to trypsin activation. the resulting inflammatory response further damages pancreatic tissue and reduces pancreatic function. there are enzyme deficiencies and malabsorption of nutrients.
