1
Q

9
Q

Describe the mechanism of vomitting

A

Increased intra-abdominal pressure
Stomach relaxes to receive intestinal contents
The increase in pressure alongside the relaxation of LOS forces contents into oesophagus
Followed by relaxation of UOS, contents enter into the mouth

16
Q

What does GIP do?

A

Inhibits gastrin ie the production of acid, and it signals to the pancreas to release insulin

17
Q

What does secretin and CCK do?

A

Stimulates bile secretion and ejection from gallbladder+signals exocrine part of pancreas(enzymes and buffers secreted)

18
Q

What happens if there is impaired production/release of bile?

A

Problems with fat digestion
