Q

How does diffusion apply to photosynthesis?

A
  1. Carbon dioxide and water diffuse into the leaf to start photosynthesis.
  2. Because the concentration of oxygen will be higher inside the leaf than outside after photosynthesis, it diffuses out of the leaf.

Q

Why can water pass through a partially permeable membrane?

A

Because its molecules are small enough to pass through.

Q

What is active transport?

A

The transport of particles from lower to a higher concentration. This process is active because it requires energy in the form of ATP.
