“New man” nuclear family
A postmodern form of the nuclear family where the woman is the breadwinner and the man does the domestic work.
Beanpole families
A vertical extended family with few branches.
Few siblings and aunties, uncles cousins.
It has become more common with falling fertility rates.
Matrifocal lone parent family
The lone parent is the mother - courts tend to prefer mothers in child custody cases.
New Right says the lack of a male role model can lead to deviance and an underclass.
Patrifocal lone parent family
The single parent is the father.
Living Apart Together
Where a couple don’t cohabitate.
