Consciousness-Raising Groups
A group where awareness on a variety of issues is brought up and where people voice their thoughts and concerns as well as taking action on a societal level
Intervention/Treatment-Oriented Groups
Groups where members go through, as a whole, psychological intervention to help them change their bad habits for better ones, or to battle a lasting problem such as addiction. Members can learn from one another and build community
Educational Groups
Groups in which the goal is to pass down knowledge and useful information
Social Action Groups
Groups that promote advocacy for rights along with pushing for social change through the use of members’ actions and contributions.
Therapeutic Activity Groups
Groups in which activities with basic motor requirements are used to improve developmental skills as well as emotional status and mental health. It can also be used as calming strategies for people suffering of mental illnesses
Network and Support Groups
Groups in which members who have shared a similar experience, provide support to one another and allow for emotional release in a safe space
Skill Development Groups
Groups meant to learn new skills or enhance existing skills in order to help members in work environment of personal growth
Nontraditional Groups
groups that are heald online, can help break barriers of timidness and unease while allowing members to be in their comfort environments.
