A

Describe the nutrient intake level chart.

A
  1. Estimated average requirement exists near the left end and is level where intake is inadequate for 50% of healthy individuals.
  2. Recommended dietary allowance is where intake level would meet the requirement of 97.5% of healthy individuals.
  3. Tolerable upper intake level is the highest dose with which no risk of adverse effects would arise.
  4. Adequate intake exists on a spectrum from before RDA to after, and is experimentally determined intake level for groups that RDA cannot be determined for, such as infants.
