Dicision Manager Portal Flashcards
What is Decision Manager Portal?
- an end-user facing portal
- puts the business in charge of change, and IT in an auxiliary role.
- simple monitoring to more advanced simulations and analytics
- can run in any environment
- typically it would be used in a business sandbox and in production
- this business as usual portal allows strategy designers to implement new propositions and amend the existing marketing strategy as defined in the marketing plan.
How DMP is used in Development Environment?
In development environment the portal is configured, using an application overlay, and these configurations are then later applied in the other environments.
used by System Architect
How DMP is used in Business Sandbox Environment?
In business sandbox, the portal is used for managing revisions of the decisoning artifacts, for changes to business rules and propositions and for verifying changes by running tests and simulations.
Used by Strategy Designer and Revision Manager
How DMP is used in Production Environment?
In production, the Decision Manager Portal is typically used for monitoring the effectiveness of the decisions. This is done by looking at interaction history using reports and Visual Business Director, as well as by inspecting in details the adaptive models. The portal also allows administrators to change directly proposition data and to manage the adaptive models.
Used by Supervisor and Administrator
What do you in application overlay wizard?
- Name, Description, Revision Ruleset, Access groups, Rules
- No operators created by default
- none of the access groups will have access to any of the propositions by default
Default access groups?
DecisionArchitect, RevisionManager and StrategyDesigner
Built-in roles?
DecisionManager:RevisionManager
This role is used in Business Sandbox environment. The role allows users to set up a new revision, create change requests, assign change requests to workbaskets and users, approve change requests and generate a revision package. The role consist of the following privileges: pyTestFlows, pyManageRevisions, pyRunSimulations, pyManageVBD
DecisionManager:StrategyDesigner
This role is used in Business Sandbox environment. The role allows working on change requests, change decision strategies, run simulations, test flows, submit changes for approval. The role consist of the following privileges: pyManagePropositionData, pyMonitorVBDSimulation, pyManageVBD, pyRunSimulations, pyWorkOnChangeSet, pyTestFlows, pyViewCalendar, pyMonitorReports, pyManageReports
DecisionManager:DecisionArchitect
This role is typically used in Business Sandbox environment, but it is applicable in all environments and it should be restricted to Decisioning experts only. This role has full access to all system capabilities.
DecisionManager:Supervisor
This role is used in production environment, where users need the ability to monitor the customer interactions and the performance of the adaptive models. With this role, users can not do any harm to the system, since they only have read only capabilities. The role consist of the following privileges: pyMonitorADMReports, pyUpdateADMReportingData, pyMonitorInteractionHistory, pyMonitorVBDActuals, pyMonitorReports
DecisionManager:Administrator
This role is used in production, where users need to ability to update proposition data (since propositions are currently not under a revision) and clean up adaptive monitoring data. This role comes with some responsibilities as they may significantly damage the production system. The role consists of the following privileges: pyMonitorADMReports, pyUpdateADMReportingData, pyMonitorInteractionHistory, pyMonitorVBDActuals, pyManageVBD, pyManageADMModels, pyManagePropositionData, pyTestFlows, pyMonitorReports, pyManageReports
Privileges?
- pyMonitorADMReports: all adaptive analytics reporting landing pages and the report browser for the AdaptiveDecisioning category reports
- pyManageADMModels: the ‘Adaptive models’ tab under ‘Manage’ section including all management/control facilities like clear adaptive models, delete etc.
- pyUpdateADMReportingData: The ability to click on the Update reporting data link, which ensures that a new database snapshot is taken for adaptive reporting
- pyManagePropositionData: ‘Proposition data’ tab from ‘Manage’ section
- pyMonitorInteractionHistory: View reports from Interaction History category
- pyMonitorVBDActuals: ‘Monitor Interaction History’ link from navigation page showing the Actuals data source in Visual Business Director
- pyMonitorVBDSimulation: access to launch Visual Business Director from simulation results and from ‘Data sources’ tab under ‘Manage’ section
- pyManageVBD: access to KPI, DataSources and Views
- pyTestFlows: Ability to test/run flows
- pyRunSimulations: Full simulation capabilities including simulation landing page, create new simulation, execute etc.
- pyManageRevisions: ‘View Business Rules’ link, and ‘Revisions’ tab in ‘Manage’ section and work list on Home page
- pyWorkOnChangeSet: ‘View Business Rules’ link, open change requests, open rules, change rules, submit changes
- pyMonitorReports: view reports under the ‘Browse Reports’ menu
- pyManageReports: ability to create new reports in any of the categories in ‘Browse Reports’
- pyViewCalendar: Ability to see the ‘Plan’ link in the portal
Default Application Overlay?
there is a default application overlay created automatically when landing page is opened for the first time. The name of the overlay starts with ‘RTC-‘. This is a special Application Overlay used for direct deployment of the control parameters
Available functions reg. proposition?
- Add new propositions
- Delete existing propositions
- Modify existing proposition attributes
A business user in the decision manager portal will never be able to modify the structure of the proposition, i.e. to add or remove proposition properties. Any structural changes must be done by the system architect in development environment.
How to get access to proposition:
Users can edit the application overlay from the landing page and modify the proposition group authorization and authorize a set of propositions groups to a given access group. Once an access group is authorized with a certain set of proposition groups, any operator logging in to the portal will be able do changes.
App overlay is portable?
Once the operators are created, the system architect can export a RAP file with the entire application overlay and related operators. Once that has been created, the RAP can be imported into any other environment and Decision Manager portal can be used.
Tabs in Management ?
- Revisions: a Decision Architect is able to set up new revisions and delegate work to other users.
- Propositions: create, delete and modify existing propositions
- Adaptive models: clear and delete adaptive models; change the parameters of the adaptive models, like for e.g. Memory, Grouping granularity, Correlation threshold etc.
- Key performance indicators: add, delete and change KPIs which can be later viewed in Visual Business Director
- Data sources: delete simulation data sources and change start time of these data sources
- Saved views: delete views created in Visual Business Director
Main links in DMP?
- Dashboard
- Manage
- ‘View Business Rules’: shows all available business rules to this application overlay. These rules are the ones assigned by the system architect during the overlay creation for change management.
- ‘Monitor Adaptive Models’: shows an overview of all adaptive models available in the adaptive decisioning data mart. This course will not explain in details all these reports as that is a separate topic in itself.
- ‘Monitor Interaction History’: shows all customer interactions in Visual Business Director. This view is used by managers, business unit responsible and call center agents in a production system.
‘Monitor Adaptive Models’, ‘Monitor Interaction History’ and ‘Browse Reports’ are typically used in production, and allow inspecting in detail the performance of the decisioning system.
What is Pega Decision Management?
Pega Decision Management offers unique
capabilities to implement next-best-action strategies and to examine the impact of a new product offer
by running simulations and to visualize the impact.
Steps of changing the marketing plan?
- Create a base line simulation for the existing offerings.
- Implement the marketing plan.
- Run a simulation and compare the results.
