Shizophreniform disorder
Symptoms 1-6 months .
Combination of negative and positive symptoms. Negative symptoms - affective flattening , poor eye contact reduced body language , poverty of speech, empty brief replies to questions, avolition- inability to persist and move forward with any goal directed activities.
Positive symptoms
Delusions , hallucinations , disorganized thinking , agitation.
Brief psychotic disorder
Symptoms present 1 month or less
