Improve glycemic control
Treat other RFs- HTN, smoking
What are the indications for photocoagulation?
Maculopathy
Proliferative and pre-proliferative diabetic retinopathy
How doe photocoagulation work?
Pan-retinal: Prevents ischaemic cells from secreting GF that cause neovascularisation
Focal- targets vessels at risk of bleeding
