Diabetic foot disease occurs due to 2 main factors:

  • PAD
  • Neuropathy

how do you distinguish between the cause of each?

A

PAD will be critical ischaemia presentation with critical toes + absent foot pulses

Neuropathy will be injury/infection over pressure points (charcot’s joint/arthropathy)

bed rest,
