Reduce risk of incident T2DM by 58% over 3 years. 5% of the lifestyle change group developed DM each year. Those who took metformin reduced their risk by 31%

What were the results of the Diabetes Prevention Program Outcomes Study (DPPOS)?
A
10 year findings: participants continued to have a delay in the development of diabetes by 34% & developed diabetes about 4 years later. Those who took metformin delayed DM by 18% & developed diabetes 2 years later
15 year findings: 27% delay in DM & 18% delay with metformin. 55-56% of intervention groups developed DM compared with 62% who took placebo
