A

Education - has the right to make all decisions regarding education including curriculum
Scottish Parliament chose to make university fees free for Scottish students, benefitting the futures of millions of young people.

Health developed power - used it to abolish prescription fees.

Independence Referendum

A

55% of Scotlands population wanted to remain in the united kingdom - showing they were happy with the amount of devolution given to Scotland

Although the close margin shows that the other half of the population are not happy with the devolution of powers.

EU Referendum

A

52% of the UK voted in favour to leave, although 62% of Scotland voted to remain - showing Scotland leaving the EU undemocratically. Nicola claimed it was a “strong unequivocal vote”

West Lothian Question

A

Raised by Tam Dalyell, a former MP for West Lothian during a debate on devolution in 1977
An MP in Scotland is able to vote on matters effecting education in England but MPs in England cannot to the same in Scotland due to the power being devolved.
This unfairness can adversely affect the fairness between the countries in the UK
