The study of changes and transitions that accompany physical growth or maturation.
What are the three stages of gestation?
The germinal (first two weeks), embyronic (two months) and fetal (third month to birth).

They are assimilation (fitting new information into existing ideas) and accommodation (modification of cognitive schemata to incorporate new information).
