monitoring - GPS
safety - correcting technical errors and safety such as cricket helmet technology
How does technology increase general participation?
increased access e.g wheelchair ramps, increased info e.g. heart rate monitor, increased progress and enjoyment e.g. lighter bike to cycle faster, increased inclusion e.g. prosthetics and running blades, increased opportunity e.g. 4G pitches so play anytime, decreased cost e.g. mass production of skis makes them cheaper
How is tech used to make sport fairer?
officiating, measurement/timing, overturning incorrect decisions, reduction in cheating, drug testing, inclusion
How has tech impacted enjoyment?
increased it as there’s multiple camera angle, slow mo replays, pundits analyse using motion capture analysis but this leads to constant interruptions and staying at home is sometimes better than going to watch the match so there’s a decrease in live attendance
