What is a brief? Why is it important?
A brief outlines your client’s requirements.
It is important as it defines the scope of their instruction and ensures you both understand what it required.
What is a risk register?
A Risk Register is a document which sets out all the project risks, detailing anything which might have an adverse affect on the project. It should identify control measures and who is responsible for controlling that risk.
The document should be live and updated throughout the project.
What is a feasibility study?
A feasibility study is a comprehensive analysis conducted to assess the viability and practicality of a proposed construction project. It examines various aspects of the project to determine if it is technically, financially, and operationally feasible.
What is an RFI register?
A Request For Information Register is a live project document which includes queries from say a client to consultant. The document will allow different parties to track the queries and provide time bound actions.
How does a risk register scoring system work?
It compares liklihood vs severity to calculate the risk. It also outlines control measures.
What is a critical path?
The critical path refers to the sequence of tasks or activities that determine the minimum amount of time required to complete a project.
It represents the longest duration path through a project network diagram, which includes all the dependent activities and their interrelationships.
If something on the critical path changes it will affect other tasks within that timeline and ultimately the completion date
