Gross nation income, this divided by the number of people living there
employment structure, what industries people work in
Poverty, extreme poverty and how much is there
Limitations of these measures?
Measure only wealth and not social factors
Do not recognise inequalities in a country
They do no consider the cost of living within a country
What is an alternative measure to this?
Human development index, measures life expectancy, education and income

War, decline in traditional industries, weather/climate, natural disasters
