It often refers to an increase in wealth for a country and its citizens but it is also associated with improving peoples quality of life or standard of living

Measuring may include looking at health,education, culture, political freedom and wealth of the country

Saudi Arabia has a large GNP ( lots of money) from its oil but it doesn’t share it equally amongst its people so only a minority is rich
