Population Structure

Number of lives births per 1000 people per year
Death Rate
Number of deaths per 1000 people per year

Proportion of people below (0-14) and above (over 65) normal working age. Its calculated by:

extreme differences between poverty and wealth

Inter-governmental organisations
What are IGOs?
International groups, made up of a number of different countries who play a large part in the making of international laws

-to allow for cooperation between different states while allowing them to maintain their sovereignity.
-it keeps states/individuals accountable for injustice

To promote health, keep the world safe, and serve the vulnerable

To maintain international peace and security

To help trade flow as freely as possible

A person who moves from one place to another
What is an immigrant?
A person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country
What is an emigrant?
A person who leaves their own country to permanently live in another country
What is forced migration?
When someone has no choice to leave their country as they may fear harm or death
What is voluntary migration?
When someone chooses to leave their home for a better life
What is a refugee?
Someone who must leave their home are for their own safety and survival
What is an asylum seeker?
Someone who must leave their home for their own safety and survival. They are waiting for a decision so see if they can stay in a safe country
What is remittance
Money sent home by migrants to their families
What is push factor?
Something that motivates a person to migrate away from their country
What is pull factor?
Something that motivates a person to move to a new country
