Determiners definition
In actual usage, nouns appear in noun phrases, and the kind of reference the noun phrase has depends on the acompanying determiner
Central determiners
the, a, zero
a - singular count nouns
zero - uncountable, plural count nouns
the - singular count nouns, plural count nouns, uncountable
Instead of the we can use…
a) the demonstratives
this, that, these, those
b) the possesives
my, our, yours…
c) wh-determiners
which, whose, whichever, whatever…
d) negative determiner NO
Instead of a we can use…
a) the universal determiners each and every
b) the nonassertive dual determiner either
c) the negstive dual determiner neither
Instead of zero we can use…
a) the general assertibe determiner some
b) the general nonassertive determiner any
c) the quantitative determiner enough
Predeterminers
a) all, both, half
b) the multipliers
They precede those central determiners with which thez can occur. They have to do with quantification.

These are predeterminers
They are able to occur before articles, demonstratives, possesives
BUT they cannot occur before determiners that themselves entail quantification
ALL occurs with plural count nouns and noncount nouns
BOTH occurs with plural count nouns
HALF occurs with singular and plural count nouns, snd noncount nouns
Multipliers rules
two uses as predeterminers:
1. before definite article or possesive the multiplier applies to the noun so determined:
“Twice the lenght” (a lenght twice as great)
2. before indefinite article or each, every the multiplier applies to a measure:
“Once a day”, “twice each game”
Postdeterminers
a) ordinals (first, fourth, last, other)
b) quantifiers *(seven, many, plenty of, a lot of)
Where they can coocur ORDINALS usually precede QUANTIFIERS

Few and Little rules
FEW occurs only with plural count nouns
LITTLE occurs only with noncount nouns
When preceded by a, each has a positive meaning
“I play a few games” +
“I play few games” -
“I ate a little bread” +
“I ate little bread” -
