A

Issue 1- Vietnam: America had been fighting the war for 20 yrs, costing money & lives by 1975 Vietnam was fully communist

A

1) Nuclear weapons ; fear that unstable countries could get them
2) Economic issues; costs millions to keep & look after nukes
3) the lesson of conflict; no one was winning the hot & cold wars
4) the China soviet split; the relationship between USSR & China was deterating so USA wanted a good relationship with China
