Why is it called teleological?
The design argument is all about the design or purpose of natural phenomenon and that is the definition of teleology
The six key features of the design argument?
1) there is a small chance a watch is make by coincidence. It is so perfect it must have a creator
2) eyes and ears are designed for seeing and hearing, how can that be an accident? Must be a creator
3) the seasons are perfectly ordered so plants can grow at specific times of the year, year after year.
4) the ozone layer is set at the correct distance to protect us from the Suns uv Rays
5) the universe is so complex but it fits together so perfectly
6) Gravity is just right so we don’t go floating off into space and so that other plants don’t come hurtling towards us
What does the argument show us?
It shows us that there must be a creator or designer because everything in existence is too complicated
