Strategy used to invert the problem and look at it from a new angle.
What does inversion help with?
A method of finding/making a problem to fix to ensure it is the best it can be
What is morphological analysis?
It separates a product into as many dimensions/stages as possible so they can be individually designed
How does morphological analysis help with design?
It means a designer can evaluate every potential option to new solutions and find a combination that works the best of all stages
What is lateral thinking?
idea where designers approach problems by using reasoning that is not immediately obvious
How can lateral thinking help?
It can create new and inventive ways to solve an issue
What is reverse engineering?
it takes product apart to understand how it could be re-built with adjustments or improvements
How does reverse engineering help?
it enables designers to evaluate good an bad points of the project and see and unnecessary solutions that can be simplified or improved
