Make products usable by as many people as possible.

When a company provides transparency on their contributions towards sustainability.
What is local sourcing?
Obtaining materials for a product within close proximity to where they will be produced.
What is responsibly managed resource use?
Source resources overseen by schemes that make sure companies address sustainability and ethical issues.
What are slave and child labour issues?
Ensuring that the workforce operates fairly and safely.
What is honest labelling and marketing?
Ensures that a consumers is fully aware of what they are buying.
What are safety schemes?
They ensure that products adhere to the appropriate schemes, that employers ensure that all measures are taken to keep their employees as safe as possible in a dangerous environment.
What is Fairtrade?
They make sure producers in developing countries are given a fair minimum price for their products by large businesses in developed countries.
What is iterative design?
A circular set of steps that a designer will in order to solve a problem.
What is user centred design?
An approach to ensure that a product is easy to use. A user is likely to be consulted at every stage of the design to ensure this.
What are ergonomic principles?
How a product fits and feels for humans, they should be easy and comfortable to use.
What is anthropometric data?
The variety of human body measurements, like weight and height. This ensure a product fits its intended user.
