POOR ALIGNMENT
when guidelines are added to the layout, the lack of alignment is more evident. the guidelines identify edges of items where alignment can be made.
STRONG ALIGNMENT
the result is a much more pleasing layout that looks and feels more organised and easier to follow.
ORGANISED, STRUCTURED, EASY TO FOLLOW.
rule of thirds
when a layout space is divided into nine equal rectangles, the four lines dividing the space provide focal points. placing important features on or close to where the lines cross can create a more visually pleasing layout.
fine tuning
scaled up, scaled down, circle added reverse text, size increase different typeface colour change,verticals added.
WITH DOMINANCE AND EMPHASIS
you could: create a focal point by enlarging an image and positioning it carefully.
group smaller images and scaling them down to make the focal point more dominant.
change the font to create contrast.
using underlining to add emphasis.
leave white space.
reduce colours to add contrast.
white space.
it doesnt need to be white, it can allow the readers eyes to rest, especially if the layout is busy.
it calm a layout,allows breathing space. it can make an item stand out more if they are next to each other in a layout.
