In the future I want to be a doctor because I like to help other people.
I want to continue my studies here in Poland in English and go to the United States to learn more about medicine. Also, doctors in the United States can earn more, but for me this is not too important. Opportunities are more important to me. Im gong to have more opportunities in the US because the US government gives a lot of money to develop the medicine, and I think that when I return to Poland, I will develop the local medicine.
I specifically want to practice as a cardiologist. I like the theme of the heart because my mother had heart surgery when she was a child.

In my opinion, food is the center of culture and this is because we all need to eat. It is not necessary to learn the history of a country to live, but without food you will have more problems. At CAS I have a project in which every week I cook a new dish from a new country. For example tacos from Mexico. And when I read about tacos I can learn more about the culture of Mexico. For me this is easier than reading a book or visiting a museum.
But history is very important to build our identity. To be a patriot, you need to understand the history of your country. I don’t like history, but even I am proud to read about the history of Poland.
I think because Poland had problems with Russia in the story, now we help refugees from Ukraine.
En mi opinión, la comida es el centro de la cultura y esto se debe a que todos necesitamos comer. No es necesario aprender la historia de un país para vivir, pero sin comida tendrás más problemas. En CAS tengo un proyecto en el que cada semana cocino un plato nuevo de un país nuevo. Por ejemplo tacos de México. Y cuando leo sobre tacos puedo aprender más sobre la cultura de México. Para mí esto es más fácil que leer un libro o visitar un museo.
Pero la historia es muy importante para construir nuestra identidad. Para ser un patriota, necesitas entender la historia de tu país. No me gusta la historia, pero incluso me enorgullece leer sobre la historia de Polonia.
Creo que debido a que Polonia tuvo problemas con Rusia en la historia, ahora ayudamos a los refugiados de Ucrania.
Now more than ever we have a big health problem. Yes, in history we had more deaths in young people because the drug was not developed. But now our food is very greasy and more often I see people working indoors, in an office with a computer.
We must change our lives. If we inform people about the dangers, they will understand that a change is necessary. Not just more exercise, but our diet must change. Fatty foods like hamburgers increase the risk of heart attack.
When I lived in the United States, I was struck by how people ate. A bit of vegetables and fruits, but in general fast food. In the future I want to practice as a cardiologist and I am sure that my patients will have this kind of life.
Ahora más que nunca tenemos un gran problema de salud. Sí, en la historia tuvimos más muertes en jóvenes porque no se desarrolló el fármaco. Pero ahora nuestra comida es muy grasosa y más a menudo veo gente trabajando adentro, en una oficina con una computadora.
Debemos cambiar nuestras vidas. Si informamos a la gente sobre los peligros, entenderán que es necesario un cambio. No solo más ejercicio, pero nuestra dieta debe cambiar. Los alimentos grasos como las hamburguesas aumentan el riesgo de infarto.
Cuando vivía en los Estados Unidos, me llamaba la atención cómo comía la gente. Un poco de verduras y frutas, pero en general comida rápida. En el futuro quiero ejercer como cardiólogo y estoy seguro de que mis pacientes tendrán este tipo de vida.

For me, family is very important. Only when I am with my family can I say that I am happy. It is very sad that we only see our family on vacation. I think we need to increase the frequency of time we spend together. Without a family it’s hard to stay strong, and I know this to be true because for the past four years I’ve lived alone. After school I can only talk to my family on the phone and sometimes it’s hard to be away from them.
Para mí, la familia es muy importante. Solo cuando estoy con mi familia puedo decir que estoy feliz. Es muy triste que solo veamos a nuestra familia en vacaciones. Creo que necesitamos aumentar la frecuencia del tiempo que pasamos juntos. Sin una familia es difícil ser fuerte, y sé que esto es la verdad porque durante los últimos cuatro años he vivido solo. Después de la escuela solo puedo hablar con mi familia por teléfono y, a veces, es difícil estar lejos de ellos.
It is amazing how many forms of innovations we have. To travel we can use a plane, boat, car, and more. For entertainment we have netflix, video games, facebook with a click. On the one hand, everything is faster, we can access information from anywhere and connect with anyone, but on the other hand, this means negative impacts for our planet and our relationships. Sometimes we have to remember that a bike trip can change a lot or a conversation over dinner can build stronger relationships than an SMS.
Es increiblle cuántas formas de innovaciones tenemos. Para viajar podemos utilizar un avión, barco, coche, y más. Para entretenimiento tenemos netflix, videojuegos, facebook con un click. Por un lado, todo es más rápido, podemos acceder a la información desde cualquier lugar y conectarnos con cualquiera, pero por otro lado, esto significa impactos negativos para nuestro planeta y nuestras relaciones. A veces debemos recordar que un viaje en bicicleta puede cambiar mucho o una conversación durante la cena puede construir relaciones más fuertes que un SMS.
Experiences are at the center of a person’s identity. Yes, we can say that the culture with its rich history has a greater effect, but what good is this if we do not experience? Experiences are unique for everyone and build unique people. The world would be boring if we were all the same.
When I moved to Poland I experienced many challenges and learned to overcome them. Now I can easily overcome challenges. I worked hard to get my position, and that builds my character for the better.

Unfortunately, with the development of technology we have more carbon dioxide in the air. This means rising temperatures. And we may believe that a small increase means a better winter, but this is a bigger problem for my generation. I read that we only have twenty years to change our ways. And the truth is that I am afraid because the governments have no focus on this issue.
I personally try to reduce my energy consumption. When I go to a store or school it is always by bike or on foot. I also want to talk about this topic as much as possible. We need to understand the facts and the danger. I pray we find a way to change
Disfortudamente, con el desarrollo de la tecnología tenemos más dióxido de carbono en el aire. Esto significa aumento de las temperaturas. Y podemos creer que un pequeño aumento significa un mejor invierno, pero este es un problema mayor para mi generación. Leí que solo tenemos veinte años para cambiar nuestras costumbres. Y la verdad que tengo miedo porque los gobiernos no tienen foco en este tema.
Yo personalmente trato de reducir mi consumo de energía. Cuando voy a una tienda o escuela siempre es en bicicleta o a pie. También quiero hablar sobre este tema tanto como sea posible. Necesitamos entender los hechos y el peligro. Ruego que encontremos una manera de cambiar
In my opinion, nature is beautiful. Unfortunately, in a city like Krakow it’s hard to find green spices. It is possible but they are never clean. We have a big problem with plastics in the world in general. When I lived in the United States near the beach, I would see kilos of garbage on the coast. Sea animals are going to die if we don’t change our habits. You have to recycle plastic, yes, but it is more important to reduce the amount of plastic. I personally use a glass, it is cheaper and better for nature. I hope we change our habit with plastic.
En mi opinión, la naturaleza es hermosa. Desafortunadamente, en una ciudad como Cracovia es difícil encontrar especias verdes. Es posible pero nunca están limpios.. Tenemos un gran problema con los plásticos en el mundo en general. Cuando vivía en Estados Unidos cerca de la playa, veía kilos de basura en la costa. Los animales del mar van a morir si no cambiamos nuestros hábitos. Hay que reciclar el plástico, sí, pero es más importante reducir la cantidad de plástico. Yo personalmente uso cristal, es más barato y mejor para la naturaleza. Espero que cambiemos nuestro hábito con el plástico.
When I think of Spain I think of food. The churros or pallellas type of food is my favorite. And it seems that the inhabitants of Spain use food to connect. At lunchtime people in Spain go to a restaurant to drink tea or coffee just to talk. This is a bit weird for me because I’m Polish. In Poland we only go to this restaurant on Saturdays or Sundays and this is with family, not with friends. But it is normal to have differences in cultures, if we were all the same the world would be boring.
Cuando pienso en España pienso en comida. El tipo de comida de churros o paellas es mi favorito. Y parece que los habitantes de España utilizan la comida para conectarse. A la hora de comer la gente en España va a un restaurante a beber té o café solo para hablar. Esto es un poco raro para mí porque soy polaco. En Polonia solo vamos a restaurante los sábados o domingos y esto es con familia, no con amigos. Pero es normal tener diferencias en las culturas, si todos fuéramos iguales el mundo sería aburrido.

The pandemic was an unforgettable experience. Now we are not afraid of a virus but we must learn from covid. We must understand that without brave doctors we are going to have problems. That’s why I want to be a doctor to help other people. But before the doctors we must try to reduce contamination. Before we start eating we need to wash our hands, when we return home too.
La pandemia fue una experiencia inolvidable. Ahora no le tenemos miedo a un virus pero debemos aprender del covid. Debemos entender que sin médicos valientes vamos a tener problemas. Por eso quiero ser médico para ayudar a otras personas. Pero antes que los médicos debemos tratar de reducir la contaminación. Antes de empezar a comer necesitamos lavarnos las manos, al regresar a casa también.
