It was the idea that an atone was a cloud of positive charge that contained scattered electrons

How did Rutherford disprove the plum pudding theory?

A

He used the Alpha Scattering Particle experiment and where the particles where expected to pass straight through some bounced back, therefore concluding there must be a positively charged nucleus that is surrounded by electrons.
